Qualification:

• Applicants who have completed Degree or equivalent from a recognized Institute for Mercedes-Benz 2018

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• For Model Year and Running Change Measures:
• Align with Supplier Quality Engineering on specifications of boundary samples and archive samples in a trail cage.
• Review quality of trial parts before and during trials. In case of issues, provide line support by evaluating parts usability, aligning with a supplier and/or initiating re-orders.
• Report part readiness for launch to Supplier Quality Engineering SQE team as a result of trials.

Series Production:

• Facilitate corrective action and root cause analysis using problem-solving and continuous improvement techniques.
• Support production floor: Resolve supplier related issues, initiate and conduct process improvements and cross-functional activities to achieve the quality, safety and production goals of MBUSI.
• Initiate and approve sorting of potentially out of specification parts in-house, in yard areas and the sequencing center utilizing 3rd party. Determine standard for the usability of out of specification parts until supplier delivers corrected part.
• After identifying a part quality issue, support action management in terms of yard sort activities and provide documentation (i.e. checklists, production numbers). Determine which cars to further produce and which ones to put on hold.
• Identify quality issues in a production process, initiate containment activities and conduct them together with the respective area.
• Initiate supplier notification and generate problem-solving documentation.
• Proactively maintain critical parts. Check supplier test reports, analyze them and take measures in case of issues detected.
• Perform Supplier Quality Operations related duties such as line call support, issue response, audit finding investigations, walk-backs, non-conforming material handling, etc

Skills:

• The capability of using hand measurement tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Understands tolerancing concepts and statistical process control
• Understanding of i.e., APQP steps, control plan validation
• Working knowledge of specific manufacturing processes, i.e. injection molding, metal stamping, plastic painting, assembly processes, rubber extrusion, fabric-wrapping processes, glass manufacturing or mechanical assemblies as is relevant to commodity assignment.
• Strong problem-solving skills required using established methodologies including 8-D, 5-WHY, DOE, Red X, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
